A Level

  • These stand as an entry qualification for admission to university, apprenticeships and degree apprenticeships.

  • Students are typically aged between sixteen and eighteen years old and will have completed GCSEs or equivalent qualifications in order to access A Levels. 

  • Students will typically take on three or four subjects at A Level and the grades they achieve will be converted into UCAS points in order for them to gain entrance into universities.

  • In England, the prevailing exam boards are AQA, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC.

  • Specific guidance about A Level subject selection and university guidance can be taken from the staff at Private Tutors 'R' Us.
